Registration for beginner / first year students from our catchment area
Registration period for beginners 2023/2024: 10.10.2022 - 21.10.2022 - only with appointment!
This deadline is mandatory for all elementary schools in Berlin.
The following original documents are needed on site:
- Birth certificate of the child
- Identity card (or passport including registration certificate)
- Power of attorney of the parent, which will not be personally present at the registration
You will receive all necessary registration documents on site.
We also arrange the date for the enrollment examination, which your child has to attend obligingly.
Even if you want a different school for your child, first register your child with us. You apply in writing for admission to another school and indicate the reasons for your request. This also applies if you are planning to visit a private school for your child. The application can only be complied with if vacant places are available at the desired school.

Registration for learner beginners / first graders for our SESB area German-Portuguese
Children of all districts of Berlin are admitted. The well-known residence principle does not apply. In the primary school classes of the German-Portuguese part in each case half children with the mother tongue German or Portuguese are taken.
Students entering a German-Portuguese train of the SESB are subject to a one-year probationary period. On the recommendation of the class conference, the headmistress decides on the passing of the probationary period and the final admission. Students leaving the German-Portuguese train of the SESB enter into regular classes of the normal form.
The above-mentioned registration period 10.10.2022 - 21.10.2022 also applies to the personal registration for our SESB area. A personal registration with us is absolutely necessary!
First, enroll your child in your primary school, as described above, and submit the "Application for Admission to a Child in Another Public Primary School." The elementary school Neues Tor SESB has to be named first. Please note that we can only consider the second wish of our school if enough places are available.
From this application, you will receive a copy, which you must necessarily specify in person. Please also bring the following original documents:
- Birth certificate of the child

Registration for newcomers to our SESB German-Portuguese section

We will contact you to let you know if we can offer you a place in the appropriate class and then make an appointment for a trial day including a language test.
